Papermaking for Letterpress

This class will teach students how to make paper suitable for use with letterpress printing. The focus will be on small editions of consistent sheets made from plain and colored cotton abaca and flax fibers. This class is designed to broaden a student’s experience in the printshop, by adding handmade paper to their repertoire. Letterpress with Polymer Plates is another course being offered this spring. Students who enroll in both Papermaking for Letterpress and Letterpress with Polymer Plates will receive a package deal. / There is a $20 facilities fee and a $25 materials fee in addition to course tuition. / Open to students ages 16 and above. / View complete policies.

What to Bring: Pen or pencil; notebook or sketchbook; any inclusions you might want to put in the paper.

What to Wear: Clothes appropriate for messy creativity. Shoes that can get wet. Rubber gloves if you have sensitive skin.

Register Before: February 11
If the minimum enrollment is not met by the deadline above, the class will be canceled on this date. Registration will remain open after this date if the minimum enrollment has been met.
