Pre-College Weekend Intensive: Painting

Experience an MCAD studio class in a two-day, hands-on intensive. Over one weekend, students will work on painting projects based on historical art movements or the work of famous artists. Projects may include still life, figurative or experimental assignments with assistance from instructors. Additional activities will include; technical demonstrations, guest artist discussions about studio practice and careers, and an information session with admissions counselors about portfolio development. This class is an opportunity for young artists to learn and work in an immersive studio class environment. / Materials fee of $40 in addition to tuition. / Open to students ages 15–18. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. / View complete policies.

Prerequisites: Previous drawing and painting experience helpful, but not required.

What to bring: Pen or pencil; notebook or sketchbook; and a packed lunch. The materials fee for this class will cover the required supplies.

What to wear: Clothes appropriate for messy creativity.

If the minimum enrollment is not met by the deadline above, the class will be canceled on this date. Registration will remain open after this date if the minimum enrollment has been met.
Class Savings
Register on or before January 18 and save $25.
