This class will delve into the history of sign painting for inspiration as well as examining examples from the contemporary resurgence of the art form. Balancing practical applications with fine art approaches, students will investigate the basic tools and techniques of sign painting to create pieces suitable for hanging in the home, business, or gallery. / Materials fee of $30 in addition to course tuition. / Open to students ages 16 and above. / View complete policies.

Prerequisite: Previous drawing and painting experience helpful, but not required.

What to Bring: Pen or pencil; notebook or sketchbook. A complete list of suggested materials will be discussed during the first class meeting.

What to wear: Clothes appropriate for messy creativity.
