Silly Storytelling (Writing and Illustrating Books) (Online)

Do you like absurdity and like to laugh? This week will tickle funny bones and light up imaginations. As artists and storytellers we’ll get to make the impossible happen! We will take inspiration from Surrealist artworks and author-illustrators like Dr. Seuss, Mo Willems (Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus) and Minnesota based author Peter Pearson, who wrote and illustrated the fantastically wacky, How to Eat an Airplane.

We will create our own absurd, inventive and humorous artworks, including a short book you’ll get to write and illustrate. Throughout the week, skills related to drawing, the use of color, and story writing will be taught and practiced. / Open to students ages 6–12. Younger students may need assistance from an adult. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. / View complete registration policies. Please read complete summer camp information and policies before completing your registration.
