Stamp, Stencil, Paint! (Exploring Printmaking)

Exploring the magic of printmaking and discover how design, arrangement, repetition and collaboration are used to create unique patterns and prints. Students will create a variety of layered and richly colored projects using combinations of painting and unconventional printing, while experimenting with materials, such as lettuce, pepper, bubbles, water balloons and bubble wrap. Students will also design stamps in different methods, including carving, to adorn artworks. Uncover the history of print and pattern making, complete with a visit to the nearby Minneapolis Institute of Art to look at prints and printed textiles from around the globe. Each student will take home colorful print-paintings and an awesome collection of prints made by classmates. All prints will be on display for family and friends to enjoy at an art show on Friday afternoon! / Open to students ages 9-12. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. / View complete policies.

Need extended care for your child during the day? The Children's Theatre Company next door offers morning and afternoon care for MCAD camp participants.

What to bring: Please bring a packed lunch each day.

What to wear: Clothes appropriate for messy creativity.

If the minimum enrollment is not met by the deadline above, the class will be canceled on this date. Registration will remain open after this date if the minimum enrollment has been met.

Class Savings: Register for more than one class at a time and receive $25 off each additional class (same-day registrations only).
