Instructor:
Price:
$656.00

User Experience (UX) Concepts and Mobile Apps will focus on the process of utilizing sound UX concepts and techniques in order to plan and create a design for a mobile app. With a focus on the end user, students will gain an understanding of the importance of preliminary research, and then will move on to explore a variety of UX techniques and methodologies including, but not limited to, wireframing, prototyping, journey mapping, digital project reporting, user type definition/personas, card sorting, and a variety of testing methods. A deeper examination of prototyping tools, techniques and testing methods will lead to a stronger understanding of how UX is used in product development and utilized in a variety of settings, such as mobile apps or UI design. Students will work through designing an app via wireframes, user testing, design refinement, and paper/clickable prototyping. The class will explore the differences in designing for web and mobile, as well as designing for different operating systems. The outcome of this class will be a case study on a mobile app suitable for a digital portfolio. There is potential for students to be working in groups/on a common set of deliverables. Students will have access to Adobe Creative Cloud software throughout the class and may use Adobe if it is their preferred software. Please note that there will not be Adobe software instruction included. There will be light “homework” to be completed between class sessions, e.g., user testing, etc. / No class July 5. / Open to students ages 18 and above. View complete policies.
