Dear MCAD Community,

I want to let you know that unfortunately a member of the MCAD community has been diagnosed with COVID-19. This person’s last time on the MCAD campus was March 11, and last interaction with anyone in the community was March 12. This person is currently in self-isolation. As our first notification of a case of COVID-19, we are thankful to this individual for reporting results to MCAD. I know you join me in wishing this member of our community a speedy recovery.

With increasing access to diagnostics tools through clinical diagnosis or laboratory confirmation, the number of positive cases will increase – both in the wider community as well as here at MCAD. Therefore, we expect that future diagnoses will not necessarily result in school-wide communication similar to this one. As per established protocols we have been in direct communication with the Minnesota Department of Health regarding this case and will continue to do so throughout this pandemic.

The safety, security, and health of the whole MCAD community remains my top priority. If you need to report a diagnosis for COVID-19, we ask students to contact, and faculty and staff to notify

We will get through this together as a community, and be stronger when we emerge. Please take care.

All my best to you,
