The Minneapolis College of Art and Design accepts applications on an ongoing basis for on-call public safety officers in our Public Safety Office. On-call positions are non-benefits eligible.

Primary function is to provide a safe and secure campus environment by: protecting life and property, preventing and responding to crimes, operating the communications center, and assisting the college community by responding to requests of service. All duties will be carried out in accordance with local, state, and federal laws, as well as college policies.

Candidates will be eligible for continued training after probationary period, which includes certification in Defensive Tactics, First Aid, and CPR. All required uniforms and necessary equipment will be supplied by the college.

Qualifications include: high school diploma, or equivalent, required; associate's degree preferred. First Aid and CPR certification, preferred. General security experience, particularly in a college environment, preferred. Understanding of law enforcement and the key issues that impact a security officer. Must possess excellent written and oral communication and customer service skills, as well as interpersonal skills. Must have ability to prioritize when dealing with multiple high-priority situations. Must have valid driver's license. Satisfactory background and DMV check required.
