About MCAD Online Learning

Online Learning is a department at MCAD that supports a variety of fully online courses, certificates, and degrees. Most online courses at MCAD are asynchronous, meaning you will not have set class meeting times. Instead, courses are project-based with two to three deadlines per week, and you can choose a time and place that works best for you to complete your work. Course activities may include readings, video demonstrations and tutorials, discussions, projects, and critiques.

About Remote Instruction

Remote instruction is an online alternative to in-person instruction that went into effect on March 30, 2020, due to the COVID-19 health crisis. This allows for students to earn credits for the spring 2020 semester while protecting the health and safety of our community.

Additional Online Classes and Programs

In addition to integrated online learning for our undergraduate students, MCAD offers stand-alone online courses and short certificate programs through Continuing Education; as well as fully-online graduate degrees in sustainable design and graphic and web design.
