Originally from Xuzhou, Jiangsu, China, Ziyang Wu's art practice has been focused on micro-alienation phenomenon within contemporary society including the impact and control on individuals by new technology and internet power through a combination of video, painting, sculpture, installation, and performance.

Wu has shown his work internationally in China, the United States, and Europe, including solo exhibition at the Nancy Margolis Gallery in New York and group exhibitions at the Milan Design Week in Italy, the Art Jiangxi International Fair in China, the Rochester Art Center in Minnesota, the Providence Biennial for Contemporary Art in Rhode Island, the Academy Art Museum in Maryland, the Hole Gallery, the Microscope Gallery, and the Rogue Space Gallery in New York.

He is a current fellow at Art(ists) on the Verge through NorthernLights.MN. In 2017 he showed at the Cohen Gallery at Brown University in Rhode Island.
