How are you going to celebrate your win?

By sitting in my backyard with a glass of wine and enjoying this beautiful weather!

What kind of work are you excited to make next?

As a stop-motion artist, my past work was firmly situated within a sculptural process/digital product dichotomy. This past semester I have begun to blur those lines and I look forward to pushing this exploration further by rethinking the traditional role of the set and the animated subject.

What made you choose to come to MCAD for your MFA?

When I visited MCAD last spring I was very impressed by the sense of community in the MFA program—it didn't feel like the dog-eat-dog environment I had seen elsewhere. I also loved how individualized the program is. As someone with a non-traditional practice, I can adapt the course of study to fit my needs and interests.

Favorite thing about the program or the community (so far)?

The MCAD MFA program emphasizes experimentation and interdisciplinary exploration. I feel that without this freedom, my practice would not have been able to develop to the extent that it has. I also love the community at large—it has been wonderful to have such a strong, supportive network.
