Describe the work you submitted for merits.

I put in comics that each have their own kind of magic. Some stories about witches hidden in the halls of their school, some are about friends finding strange robots in the ocean, some are about magic caves that tell the future, and some are just about love and anger.

Why did you decide to come to MCAD?

I fell in love with the people here. I came to tour this school, certain that I was going to go to a different school, but the staff was so kind and passionate about what was being created here, that I knew I had to be a part of MCAD.

What are your plans for your senior year? And beyond?

Senior year I plan to hone my skills in comic making and hopefully pitch a graphic novel to be published. I hope to become a full-time comic artist and focus on making different graphic novels throughout the years.

What inspires you?

Artists like Trung Le Nguyen, Tillie Walden, Kamome Shirahama, and Rosemary Valero-O'Connell, are big influences on my comic making and how I want to tell stories.

Anything you're obsessed with at the moment?

I've been reading a lot of books lately: In Other Lands by Sarah Rees Brennan and Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir. I am also obsessed with Flour Power Delivery and their baked goods, they are a wonderful business to buy from and have delicious food.
