Describe the work you submitted for merits.

I submitted various pieces of design work including event posters and publication design. Most of the work submitted has a strong emphasis on typography, one of my favorite aspects of design! My work also often incorporates hand rendered design elements along with digital design elements, echoing my passions for both design and fine arts.

What's next for your practice? Anything you're really excited to make?

This summer I will be working as a studio assistant for a designer/hand letterer in the east coast. I'm particularly looking forward to assisting on large scale murals, attending galleries, learning the ins and outs of hand lettering and screenprinting, and exploring NYC museums!

Why did you decide to come to MCAD?

I was lucky to have an MCAD alum as an art teacher when I was in highschool who really put me on to MCAD. He suggested I attended a summer session at MCAD and I instantly fell in love with the community. Then after taking time off to travel during my gap year(s...), I was cutting it close on my return flight and figured if I was meant to stay I'd miss my flight home... But if I made my flight home I was meant to pursue my education at MCAD!

Favorite thing about college life (so far)?

Constantly creating.

What's the best thing you've got from MCAD's free shelf?

My favorite mug! It's shaped like a cat with the tail being the handle.

Anything you're obsessed with at the moment?

My cat Crouton, self love, funky letters, HOT PINK!

What inspires you?

People, Vibrant Color, Kindness
