Matt Frieburghaus ’01 is showing in Reshape at the Foundation Gallery at Columbia-Greene Community College in Hudson, New York.

In Reshape, Frieburghaus uses photographs and video and audio recordings to explore light and sound gathered from trips to Iceland. The show will feature 3D printed objects, video projected on 3-D prints, single channel video, digital prints, and collage. These works use blocks of color, lines, layers, and cut shapes to reference the dramatic low-arctic light, the midnight sun, and the ever-changing environment of Icelandic geological features such as lava flows and glaciers.

Based in the Hudson Valley of New York, Frieburghaus creates video, sound, print, and objects. His work is a response to sensory experiences. He explores place and observes newly discovered places and natural phenomenon that demand attention and presence.
