MFA mentor James Holmberg ‘92 has co-founded Kinetic Legacy, a software development company that builds private “social media-like” networks with the intention of preserving memories for individuals and institutions. Recently, Kinetic Legacy has partnered with Greenstand, a nonprofit organization developing open source technology to address climate change and alleviate poverty.

As much of Holmberg’s own work focuses heavily on themes of legacy and memory, the founding of Kinetic Legacy seems to be a natural next step for the creative process. Holmberg is likewise the co-host of the Legacy Matters podcast, which focuses on chronicling the life and legacy of community members, and co-created the Andelin app, a private, welcoming digital space to tell one’s story with dignity.
