Flag design by Pamela Kirton

Pamela Kirton ’06 had her flag design selected to be included in The Rockefeller Center Flag Project where it will fly from one of the flagpoles surrounding The Rink at Rockefeller Center through August 16.

This Spring, the Rockefeller Center asked people across the world to show their love for New York by designing flags that would be flown in a temporary art installation on the 193 poles surrounding the iconic Rink at Rockefeller Center. They invited artists of all abilities to help them dream up new ways to celebrate the diverse culture, vibrant energy, and strength of New York City.

"Tomorrow we may realize how we came from stardust," says Kirton. "Wouldn’t it be great if we were all the color of the sky. Would we still find reasons to hate each other? This flag reminds us how similar we are."
