Rands' Article Awarded 2019 Best Paper Award

Director of accreditation and asessment Dr. Melissa Rands' collaborative article entitled "The Role of Faculty Learning Communities in Supporting Team-Based Learning" has been awarded the 2019 Best Paper Award for Scholarship by the international Team-based Learning Collaborative organization.

The article, in which Rands was lead author, discusses the role of faculty learning communities (FLCs) in team-based learning (TBL) initiatives at a large university. Reviews found that FLCs provide crucial support for TBL practitioners while fostering connections between members.

The Team-Based Learning Collaborative is an organization of educators from around the world who encourage and support the use of Team-Based Learning in all levels of education.
