David Rathman ’82 recently introduced new watercolor monoprints at the Highpoint Center for Printmaking.

As a talented watercolorist and printmaker in his own right, the combination of these mediums in this delicate art form came naturally to Rathman. He is known for his sensitively rendered paintings of male motifs of American history and contemporary culture. In this series, Rathman infuses subject matter like demolition derby and basketball with a sense of romance and nostalgia.
