Brandon Terrell ’00 recently returned to the elementary school where he wrote his first story.

Terrell was a fifth grader at Eagle Lake when he wrote a screenplay inspired by an idea for Batman nemesis Mr. Freeze. Years later, he is still creating action-packed stories. He recently visited Eagle Lake to give a presentation to students about his career as a writer. During his visit, he had each grade of students create their own stories as he explained the basic elements of a book including the setting, main character, supporting characters, villain, and a goal or challenge.

He helped make movies for a decade after graduating from MCAD in 2000, most of the time as an assistant director on independent films. In 2009, he became a filmmaker-turned-author when he released his first graphic novel through Stone Arch Books. He has since written so many books that he's lost count.
