Jennie Ward ’99 was interviewed by Design & Living Magazine for an artist feature about her painting practice and life in Minnesota’s idyllic countryside.

The interview takes the reader into Ward's painting studio in the basement of her rustic farm cottage where she creates work centered around farm life, illustrating her animals, vegetables harvested from the garden, and her family. Ward talks about her early experiences of creating art, from drawing a whole bird book to illustrating the encyclopedia, she remembers she was always drawing. But Ward doesn’t identify as an artist, “I am not trying to accomplish the world or trying to be somebody, I am just being. Just being with God and trying to follow Him. It’s just so peaceful. It’s so great. It’s so different.”
