Work by Shen Wei

Shen Wei ’03 was recently featured in an article by Sixth Tone, an online periodical covering Chinese culture. Wei was included on Sixth Tone as part of a series about overseas photographers of Chinese origin.

Sixth Tone describes Wei's photography as having a dreamlike quality that bridges the gap between private and public. His ongoing series I Miss You Already is what he calls a lifelong project: a collection of over 200 nude self-portraits in various landscapes.

Wei is based out of New York City and Shanghai. His work is included in the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA), the Philadelphia Museum of Art, the J. Paul Getty Museum, the Museum of Contemporary Photography, the Library of Congress, the Carnegie Museum of Art, the Museum of Chinese in America, CAFA Art Museum, and the Ringling Museum of Art, among others.
