The Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) Degree in Furniture Design

Furniture design majors hone the skills of their craft in our state-of-the-art shop, while also studying the history and concepts of their art.

Students are given the opportunity to work with an unlimited combination of materials, techniques, and tools to create pieces that balance form and function.

Furniture design is a major offered in the four-year BFA degree program. Our BFA curriculum is rooted by Core Four—foundation courses that enhance students' professional development.

Internships

On-site internships at organizations such as design studios, museums, and cultural institutions—both local and international—allow students to learn about the industry, enhance their skills, network, and build their portfolios.
