Minnesota Nature Through Mixed Media (in person) | Minneapolis College of Art and Design

Minnesota Nature Through Mixed Media (in person)

Create mixed media artwork inspired by the amazingly diverse plants, animals, and habitats found in Minnesota. Students enjoy a variety of art mediums in this nature-based camp. Ages 6–9

Draw, collage, paint, print, and create relief sculpture and earth art that explores the details and beauty of nature. Young artists are inspired by Minnesota’s habitats, flora, and fauna, and creatively investigate nature through art projects such as watercolor paintings, paper collage and nature prints. Visit the Minneapolis Institute of Art to see how artists from various time periods and cultures have represented nature and incorporated natural elements in art. Discover art activists Aviva Rahmani and Andy Goldsworthy and how art is used to respond to nature. At the end of the week, families and friends are invited to view the students’ work in a group exhibition.

Open to students ages 6–9. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. Please review our complete Summer Youth Camps Policies as well as our General Policies before completing your registration. Information about extended care options through Children's Theatre Company are included in the Summer Youth Camps Policies page.
