Put A Bird On It! (Drawing, Painting, Printmaking, and Collage) U of MN Raptor Center Partnership (in person)

Studio Kids is very excited to be partnering with the University of Minnesota’s Raptor Center this week! Each day of the week an Interpretive Naturalist from the Raptor Center introduces students to one or two raptors to observe, learn about, and draw. Ages 9–12

Explore and capture the characteristics and movements of the birds, while learning about essential drawing strategies: contour, continuous line and gesture drawing. Discover several different fun media to draw with and see how they differ in their effects: drawing pencils, charcoal, ink, paper, fabric and stitching, printmaking and watercolor. The week will include a mini-field trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art. At the end of the week, families and friends are invited to view the students’ work at a special show. / Facility fee of $55 is included in course tuition.

Open to students ages 9-12. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions. Please review our complete Summer Youth Camps Policies as well as our General Policies before completing your registration. Information about extended care options through Children's Theatre Company are included in the Summer Youth Camps Policies page.
