A Tiny World: Terrarium Dioramas (Nature Inspired Art) (in person)

Explore nature and create nature-inspired artworks in this class that combines the outdoor world with fun and creative projects. Ages 6–9

This class takes daily walks around campus to collect items from nature and explore the area outside the classroom. Students record what they see in a daily journal that combines writing and drawing. Learn how to use natural items as actual artmaking tools, including in collages. Design and create a terrarium, and make a unique and tiny world with found objects. Explore a variety of art mediums to create projects throughout the week, and take a field trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art to explore landscapes and nature-inspired textiles. Families and friends are invited on Friday afternoon to see the journals, terrariums, and artworks.

Open to students ages 6-9. MCAD strictly adheres to these age guidelines and is unable to allow exceptions.
