5th Annual Italian Cultural Center Film Festival

The Italian Cultural Center is pleased to extend an invitation to attend the 5th annual Italian Film Festival of Minneapolis/St. Paul. In collaboration with the Consulate General of Italy in Chicago and the generous hospitality of the Minneapolis College of Art & Design, the ICC has arranged to bring a carefully selected set of contemporary Italian feature films to the Twin Cities. In many cases, these award-winning films will have their American debut at this year’s Italian Film Festival!

Visiting-Artist Lecture: Bradley Beesley

Austin-based filmmaker Bradley Beesley has made a cinematic career of documenting oddball Americana, strange subcultures, and homegrown rock stars. Post art school and somewhat damaged, he began drinking moonshine and filming with legendary bluesman R.L. Burnside to make his first movie Hill Stomp Hollar. He has since directed nine feature-length films, including seven documentaries, a concert film, and a sci-fi narrative.

Earth: The Operators Manual

An operator's manual helps keep your car or computer running at peak performance. Earth science can do the same for the planet. To illustrate the evidence and the way forward, host Richard Alley, takes viewers on a High-Definition trip around the globe, from New Zealand to New Orleans, telling the story of Earth's climate history and our relationship with fossil fuels.

Visiting-Artist Lecture: Stuart Comer

Stuart Comer will present The Tanks at Tate Modern, a new exhibition space for film and performance. He will address projects that restaged important film, media, and performance works, and will discuss strategies for rethinking museums and their relationship to time, history, and community.
