Whether it is your first time on campus or you have joined us previously, please review the following information in preparation for your upcoming course at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Syllabi and course material list will be supplied at the first class meeting. Please also review online course listings for any materials that you should bring to the first class.

Parking
If you wish to park in MCAD's surface parking lot off 26th street, you must purchase a parking pass. We recommend purchasing a $5.00 stored value parking pass online prior to the start of your course. Credit card/cash is not accepted and you will be unable to enter the lot without a parking pass. The cost is $0.25 per hour from 7:00 a.m.–9:00 p.m., Mon.–Fri., and $0.15 per hour at all other times. Limited street parking is also available. Students should not park in the parking ramp adjacent to the Children's Theater. Please note: MCAD surface lot parking is free during the summer semester.

Checkout privileges are available to Continuing Studies students for a semester fee of $20. Students enrolled in a Continuing Studies course for credit do not have to pay this semester fee.

MCAD's computer labs and advanced production studios come equipped with the latest hardware and software technology to support your project needs. Count on our support team for informative workshops on new software and hardware, as well as managing the overall technology infrastructure, exhibition equipment checkout and circulation. Doors are open 24 hours/day, 365 days/year (Main Building)
Building Hours
Mon.–Fri. 7:45 a.m.–8:00 p.m. Sat. 9:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m.; Sun. noon–5:00 p.m.
24 hour Student Access
After 8:00 p.m., Mon–Fri and on weekends, students can enter through the east door of the Main Building only; other doors will be locked. A Public Safety officer will be on duty. A Continuing Studies registration receipt and a photo i.d. is required for admittance during after-hours access.

612.874.3801 Public Safety officers patrol the college campus 24 hours a day, every day. Security can be reached from any college phone by dialing x1801. There are three direct-access phones/call boxes in the Main Building: One in each elevator and a third at the east entrance to the Main Building. There is also one in the Morrison Building near the 1st floor entrance. IN THE EVENT OF AN EMERGENCY: Dial x1555 from a college phone or 612-874-3555 from off campus or cellular.
Security Escort Service
612.874.3801 If you would like an escort to a college building or to your parked car, call Security at x1801 (from a college phone) or 612.874.3801 (from an outside line) and a Public Safety officer will assist you. We encourage students to use this service, particularly if they are coming to or leaving the college alone at night.
