Erin Sandsmark is a Minneapolis based artist, originally from Fargo, North Dakota. Sandsmark received her Bachelors of Fine Art from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, and graduated with her Masters of Fine Art from the Minneapolis College of Art and Design in 2017.

Sandsmark’s work is driven by her fascination of body politics and her interest in the material of painting. Her work consists of mostly large scale nude self portraits that confront each viewer to witness and experience the female body in a way that gives power to the artist and painted figure. Sandsmark has been exhibited at the Quarter Gallery, West Gallery, and the Katherine E. Nash Gallery at the University of Minnesota. Sandsmark has also shown locally at the Whittier Gallery, MCAD MFA Gallery, Co Exhibitions Gallery, New Bohemian Gallery, Altered Esthetics, Artspace Jackson Flats, Gallery 427, Griffin and Archer, and recently had her solo exhibition "Ourselves" at the Freeborn County Arts Initiative in Albert Lea, MN.

Currently Erin Sandsmark is an arts educator with Articulture and MCAD, and is the Vice President of the Freeborn County Arts Initiative.
