Jody Williams produces work under the name Flying Paper Press and teaches at the Minnesota Center for Book Arts. Her artist's books, prints, and paper works have been featured in over two hundred exhibitions in the United States, Canada, Hungary, Poland, Belgium, Great Britain, and Germany and are in permanent artist's book collections at the Walker Art Center and the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art.
Williams has been an artist-in-residence at ArtPark and the Women's Studio Workshop in New York, the Frans Masereel Print Center in Belgium, and the Carleton College's Gould Library in Northfield. She was a recipient of a Minnesota Center for Book Arts/Jerome Foundation Fellowship in 1996 and was honored as the distinguished artist in Fiber by the Minnesota Crafts Council in 1999. In 2008, the MCBA named her the inaugural recipient of the Minnesota Book Artist Award.
