April 13, 2024 Image Anthony Pugh ‘02 is releasing Devour with writer Jazmine Joyner. Although Pugh has been involved in several creative industries, Devour is his first creative endeavor in graphic novels. Devour is a dark retelling of the Ghanaian myth of the spider god Anansi. The story follows the Turner family as they care for the ailing matriarch of the family and the last in a line of powerful root women, Vassie. Horror and brutality ensue when the Turner grandchildren become suspicious of Vassie and uncover a dark secret about their familial past.
