The Minneapolis College of Art and Design is committed to protecting the privacy and security of its online visitors. This policy statement provides visitors with an overview of the measures we have taken to provide a safe online environment.

Web-Visitor Analytics

The Minneapolis College of Art and Design collects information about online visitors to help manage the sites and improve service. This information includes the pages visited on the site, the date and time of the visit, the internet address (URL or IP address) of the referring site, the domain name and IP address from which the access occurred, the version of browser used, the capabilities of the browser, and search terms used on our search engines. This site makes no attempt to identify individual visitors from this information.

This site uses cookies to enable quicker loading of pages during sessions and to help navigation in subsequent follow-up visits. MCAD does not collect or store cookies on our servers. In addition to using cookies and related technologies as described above, we also may permit certain third party companies to help us tailor advertising that we think may be of interest to users and to collect and use other data about user activities on mcad.edu (e.g., to allow them to tailor ads on third party services). Personal Information

MCAD collects personal information with our online applications, catalog request forms, MCAD Community Newsletter, critique request forms, email requests, as well as with our course registration system. Collected information will not be shared with third parties. We do not sell, exchange, or otherwise distribute personally identifiable information. We will also retain the information only as long as necessary for normal operations. Email requests for information are directed to the appropriate staff to respond to the request and are not used for any other purposes.

MCAD will, at its decision, contact individuals from whom we have collected personal information to announce events, programs, courses, and other information. Recipients not wishing to receive additional information from MCAD may opt out at any time. 

Technical Security

All account information is password protected. Reasonable physical, electronic, and procedural safeguards are in place to protect personal information. Standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology is used to protect information using both server authentication and data encryption to help ensure that data is safe, secure, and available only to the user. Our websites are hosted in a secure-server environment that uses a firewall and other advanced technology to prevent interference or access from outside intruders.
