BIO

I am a 19th-century photographer, public artist, astrologer, librarian, arts organizer, zinester, and business owner in Minneapolis. In 2017 I opened The Future, a space in Minneapolis, as a community space and artist residency for artists and witches. I have a BFA in photography from Lesley University College of Art and Design with a focus on alternative processes, and an MLIS from St. Catherine University. I work with 19th-century photographic processes and in public art using photography--gifting and posting photographs in my neighborhood, exploring the themes of history of place, protection, magic, and remembrance, using house histories, public record, and city directories as inspiration.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY & MENTORSHIP

I love working with students who are exploring Spiritualism, witchcraft and magic, and who are merging high and low art. I come from a punk/DIY background, and incorporate that into my mentoring style and philosophy. I'm very interested in working with artists who are exploring exhibiting and making work outside of the gallery/museum system. My background as a photographer and librarian make me well suited to mentor students who are incorporating research or archives into their work, are interested in producing work for more than just the art market, and are interested in astrology/Spiritualism/and other forms of magic.
