BIO

Naomi Chan is a Creative Designer Developer in Seattle, WA. Currently working full-time at Seattle Art Museum, and taking select freelance clients on the side. She is inspired by bright anime, brutalist online designs, and y2k nostalgia. She finds joy in the cross between technology, art, and interaction. At the museum, she has the privilege of serving the arts community through dynamic and accessible website design, user-centric email design, and interactive experiences within galleries.

TEACHING PHILOSOPHY MENTORSHIP

When I taught undergraduate courses at MCAD for two years post-pandemic, my favorite part was learning about and guiding young people as they started their careers. It's the most inspiring, grueling, and intimidating stage of a career! I believe that failure is a part of learning and that art and creativity are skills you must keep practicing if you want to be hired. Navigating this new climate as a creative is getting tougher, and I want to impart any knowledge I have that may help someone in their career now.
