TEACHING PHILOSOPHY & MENTORSHIP

I have mentored several students at MCAD over the last five years and love to come to our meetings with an attitude of collaboration and curiosity. I strive to treat my mentee as a peer and someone who is moving toward a vibrant and ongoing practice outside of an institution. To that end something I value is working with my mentee to understand how to transition their practice and their work out of the academic space and into the sometimes lonely reality of your post grad studio. My broad philosophy is that you know yourself and your work the best so my function is to see and interpret the things you make in an effort to feel for edges and ideas that you may not have already identified.
