Comic Book Creation for ages 12-15 (in person)

Course description

Create original characters and storylines and gain an introduction to the techniques, materials, and disciplines used to create professional comic art. Become familiar with the basic comic art skills, including page layout, penciling, lettering, and inking, to create a comic from start to finish. / This class meets Tuesdays and Thursdays for two weeks, a total of 4 sessions.

Open to students ages 12–15. Students must meet the age requirement by August 1, 2025. Please review our complete Teen Policies as well as our General Policies prior to completing your registration.

Required materials

Supplies for the first class

• 1 tablet of Bristol Board. 14in x 17in or larger
• 2-5 pencils (not mechanical)
• 2B, B or HB (softer) & H or 2H (harder)
• 2 technical pens, .03 & .05
• 1 bottle of black India ink, 1oz
• Watercolor Brush, Round Size 1 or 2
• Pencil sharpener
• Eraser
• T-Square, 18”
• Ruler 12in or larger, cork-back preferred

Students should anticipate an additional cost of roughly $45-$65 in total for materials (not included in tuition).

What to wear
Clothes appropriate for messy creativity.
