Introduction to Graphic Design for ages 15-18 (in person)

Explore the major of graphic design through imagery, typography and creating meaning through the manipulation of visual elements. Open to ages 15-18.

Course description

Learn to combine text and graphics in support of a message. Gain technical skills in Adobe Creative software, the programs used by professional designers. Participate in hands-on projects to create work that adds depth and variety to student portfolios. / This computer-based class is held in an MCAD computer lab and students will have access to Adobe Creative Cloud software during class. / Material fee of $25 included in course tuition. / This class meets Tuesdays and Wednesdays for two weeks, a total of 4 sessions.

Open to students ages 15–18. Students must meet the age requirement by August 1, 2025. Please review our complete Teen Policies as well as our General Policies prior to completing your registration.

Prerequisites

Experience with Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator are helpful, but not required.

Required materials

Supplies for first class
Pen or pencil; notebook or sketchbook. USB drive or cloud storage option for saving work.

The materials fee for this class will cover the required supplies.
