Explore the basics of linocut carving, relief printing and color reduction printing. Course descriptionIn the linocut printing technique, the color on the prints builds while the block diminishes. A relief block is carved and printed, then carved and printed again without having to use separate blocks for each color. The technique is ingenious, the oil-based inks lend luster to the colors and the results can be stunning. Learn basic color theory, color mixing, how to plot the reductive process from beginning to end, and best practices for carving the block. Leave this class with up to 4 editions of reductive linocut prints. / Materials fee of $29 and facility fee of $87 in addition to the course tuition.
