MasterPiece Of Cake (Sweets Inspired Art) for ages 6-9 (in person)

Learn fundamental creative artistic skills through sweet treat themed projects and exploring mixed-media. Open to ages 6-9.

Course description

Taking inspiration from Wayne Thiebaud, Andy Warhol, and Claes Oldenburg, students mix colors, create patterns, and build visual and sculptural forms. Students are invited to make their own large-scale, cake-inspired acrylic paintings, watercolor paintings of ice cream treats, frosted donut sculptures, and more. A field trip to the The Minneapolis Institute of Art during the week provides inspiration by looking at artworks that feature tasty treats. Guests will be invited to attend an exhibition of all their creations on the last day of camp. / No class on Thursday of this week.

Open to students ages 6–9. Students must meet the age requirement by August 1, 2025. Please review our complete Summer Youth Camps Policies as well as our General Policies before completing your registration.
