Explore nature and create nature-inspired artworks in this class that combines the outdoor world with fun and creative projects. Ages 6-9. Course descriptionGo on outdoor adventures and translate the colors, textures, and forms from the natural environment into various projects. Create personalized terrariums, nature journals, collage art, and watercolor paintings. A field trip to the Minneapolis Institute of Art provides inspiration through viewing works like the Jade Mountain, a variety of impressionist paintings, and textile art. On Wednesday morning, Studio Kids is excited to partner with the University of Minnesota’s Raptor Center! Interpretive naturalists from the Raptor Center will be on campus to introduce students to one or two raptors to observe, learn, and draw. Families and friends are invited on Friday afternoon to see the exciting projects created throughout the week. Open to students ages 6–9. Students must meet the age requirement by August 1, 2025.
