Under Cover: Making Art Books for ages 9-12 (in person)

Calling all authors, poets, readers, drawers, painters and book lovers! Create several unique books with personal stories and original illustrations. Open to ages 9-12.

Course description

Learn to bring words and imagery together by illustrating the lyrics of favorite songs, poems and fables. Craft books and tell stories in a unique and unusual way while learning book binding methods. Discover different techniques to enhance books such as marbling, monoprinting, and creative folding. Students take inspiration form book designer Hedi Kyle, and illustrators, Marc Martin, Violeta Lopiz, Melissa Sweet, Jeska Verstegen, and Balint Zsako. Family and friends are invited to see the array of finished books at a celebration at the end of the week.

Open to students ages 9-12. Students must meet the age requirement by August 1, 2025. Please review our complete Teen Policies as well as our General Policies prior to completing your registration.
