Learn to work with watercolors from observation, photographs, and imagination to create translucent works using this versatile medium. Course descriptionPeople are drawn to watercolors due to their vibrant, delicate, and luminous qualities. Learn traditional and non-traditional approaches to watercolor painting, including how to transfer an existing drawing onto the base for a painting, and how to execute washes and blends. Traditional techniques such as wet on wet, wet on dry, and dry brush are demonstrated, as well as experimental techniques such as monoprint transfer, stamping, salting, splattering, and stenciling. Class time is spent on demonstrations, lectures, studio time, and critiques. / Materials fee of $33 included in tuition. Open to students ages 16 and above.
