Learn the basics of hand-sewing as a way to create expressive and whimsical 2D and 3D artworks. Open to ages 9-12. Course descriptionTake inspiration from a field trip to The Minneapolis Institute of Art and the works of artists like Henri Matisse, Pablo Picasso, and Paul Klee. Learn about Hmong story cloths and the quilts by Gee's Bend artists. Take inspiration to embroider, needle felt, sew, and stuff to create imaginative stuffed, sculptural creatures and 2D fabric collages. Family and friends will be invited at the end of the week to take a look at the wild and whimsical menagerie. / No class on Thursday this week. Open to students ages 9-12.
