Photography: Kay Heino / Written by Kay Heino I had the opportunity to go see an exhibition that had many people from the MCAD community. The Land Within Us is being hosted at the Fresh Eye Gallery in Minneapolis. Curator Alondra Garza '21 brought together a group of 31 artists from Minnesota, Wisconsin, Florida, California, Arizona, Texas, and Mexico to discuss and acknowledge the fact that there is a lack of representation of Indigenous and Latines, in the art community especially here in the United States. I went to the opening reception that was held on March 11th. There were so many great people there, not only my friends and colleagues, but also a great community of people to meet! The room was lined with many different mediums. I enjoyed so much of the art that was in the gallery space. It was really nice to be able to support and view works created by fellow MCAD artists Alondra Garza '21, Alonzo Pantoja '20, Ivonne Yanez '23, Jesús Li '23, and Lauren Alfaro Nuñez '23. Other Artists exhibiting work in this including: Adrian Alejandro Gonzalez , Alejandro Macias, Ashley Bautista, Bobby Marines, Christopher Alday, Cristina Mora, Drew Arrieta, Gabi Estrada, Genessis Lopez, Grover Hogan, Hedgiee, Inkpa Mani,, J.
