Image Alumni ’11 Education BFA in Sculpture Website www.waamindustries.com Current Career Co-owners of WAAM Industries Location Minnesota, USA What do you do for work and how do you feel about it? We are the owners of WAAM Industries. It is extremely satisfying to see a project that started with $500 turn into what our brand has become today. What kind of products do you make? WAAM Industries creates functional objects built for everyday life. Our product line mainly consists of design replicas. A few examples include waxed canvas lunch bags, market totes, wooden milk crates, wine racks, and lunch trays. What inspires you? Traveling is our biggest source of inspiration. We love to travel by car because it enables us to stop at those cute towns you'd never see otherwise and find inspiration in many parts of the country and the world. Biggest takeaway from attending MCAD? Well, we found each other! But other than that, just the openness of the creative community that surrounds MCAD. We are constantly pushing new boundaries and exploring new materials, and we always feel supported. Any advice for prospective art and design students? Keep an open mind, and learn how to work in as many different mediums as possible.
