Image Alumni ’21 Degree Bachelor of Fine Arts Areas of Study Comic Art Current Career Freelance Artist Location Colorado Springs, Colorado Describe the work you submitted for merits. I submitted various comic works, mainly done in black and white, but featuring a variety of fictional themes that focus on emotion and action of individuals. Why did you decide to come to MCAD? I came to build off the idea of being a concept artist, focusing on character designs and how they would interact with a world. Comic art looked like the next best thing and allowed me to tell my own stories. What are your plans for your senior year? And beyond? I wish to focus on a bigger comic project, a Supernatural Slice of Life, to be published with around ten chapters. I'll start work on it during my senior year and focus on formatting and publishing once I'm nearing graduation. Favorite thing about college life (so far)? Getting to be around such incredible and talented individuals and finding ways to be inspired. What's the best thing you've got from MCAD's free shelf? A week's worth of fresh pastries. What inspires you? My friends and family who always cheer me on through whatever I decide to do. (And Nintendo. Nintendo's there too.) Do you have a favorite piece you've made? Describe it! It's a five-page black and white comic based on a Dungeons and Dragons campaign I was a part of. It features my character, an old gnome named Rowan, and his decision to fight an enemy head-on in a much more chaotic way by tackling them directly, putting fate in his own hands instead of in the roll of a dice. Anything you're obsessed with at the moment? A couple of characters I made and am currently working on, Zion and Artemis. Website
