Patrick Redmond, M.A., of Patrick Redmond Design is an influential, pioneering, and enthusiastic designer, artist, author, consultant, publisher, entrepreneur, creativity advocate, and retired educator. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, he is a Scholastic Art Awards alum and attended classes at the Milwaukee Art Center. A 1968 graduate of Pius XI Catholic High School, Milwaukee, widely known for its exceptional art program, Redmond is grateful to have received a scholarship to attend MCAD, then known as the Minneapolis School of Art.

Along with what he describes as the “excellent foundation” provided by MCAD, his early career included what he considers to have been like apprenticeships with industrial designer Robert J. De brey at De brey Design and with AIGA Minnesota’s first AIGA fellow, Peter Seitz at the interdisciplinary design firm InterDesign. Redmond has provided design for over 130 clients ranging from small start-ups to leading national and international corporations and institutions. He has received numerous honors, awards, and recognition during his over 50 years “committed to creativity” in the field. In addition to operating his ongoing namesake business which traces its beginning to 1966 when he began working in the field, at various times during his multifaceted career he has held positions as a creative leader with Wells Fargo (Norwest); Carlson; University of Minnesota; Goldstein Museum of Design; and Gamble-Skogmo, Inc. He is a past president and past board member of AIGA Minnesota (MGDA). In May 2021, he was featured in New York-based GDUSA.com (Graphic Design: USA) online digital, and, in September 2019, he was featured in the fall issue of the Art Exchange.

A resident of Minnesota since 1968, he is a committed husband, father, stepfather, and grandfather.
