Teaching Artist Practicum Biography

Paulina Luo earned her BFA in Comic Art with a minor in Teaching Artist. In her practice, she focuses on developing character design and storytelling. Her comics range in a variety of themes such as romance, college life, and fantasy.

Inspired by her high school Army instructor, Paulina wants to become an educator to help people strive towards their goals.

In 2014, Paulina was a teacher’s aid at Austin High School’s Fall Break Kids’ Art Camp. She worked alongside her high school art teacher to teach third through fifth-grade students. During her time there she taught a class on how to create character portraits. Paulina enjoys working with children and her goal as a teaching artist is to nurture and encourage creativity, passion, and guide students into their artistic career paths.
