Why did you choose to major in web and multimedia environments? What were your classes like?

I didn't want to specialize in a narrow field. I think the required courses for web and multimedia environments in installation and coding were really great in allowing you to bring in what you learned in elective studio courses like filmmaking and design while adding another layer of skill or conceptual thinking.

How did you get your job?

I used my time at MCAD and after graduation to make a body of work I felt confident in, and I was able to use that work to apply for jobs. I also got experience while still in school through production internships and experience on sets.

What is the most interesting thing about your field?

I’m excited to create opportunities to challenge my habits and perspective on the world. Every week, you work to develop ideas without knowing whether you're going to get to make them or not. Sometimes you waste your time, and other times, with not even a week’s notice, you get to travel to different parts of the world, meet and work with inspiring new people, or make a weird idea you didn’t think would happen, happen.

Biggest takeaway from MCAD?

I’m so thankful for the people I met while studying at MCAD. They still give me inspiration and opportunities more than five years after graduation.

How did MCAD prepare you for life after graduation?

MCAD was helpful in giving me a talented creative network.

Any advice for prospective art and design students?

Use MCAD assignments to make the work you are excited about making, not completing it as just homework. You’re in a great opportunity, surrounded by inspiring professors, classmates, and facilities with the time to focus on creating work you care about.
