Image Alumni ’24 , MA Degree Master of Arts Areas of Study Sustainable Design Social Media LinkedIn Location Minneapolis, MN What inspires you/your work? People and dismantling old power structures. Where did you earn your undergraduate degree, and what was it in? BFA sculpture. How did you hear about MCAD? When I moved here from D.C. Why did you choose to earn an MA at MCAD? It was the perfect program for me during this time. What was your biggest takeaway from the program? Systems Thinking, Lifecycle Analysis, and Social-ecological Awareness. Where were you located when you completed the program? Minneapolis. What was the online education like? It was great at first, but as the world started returning to normal it felt a bit limited. How has the MA impacted your career/your life? Only time will tell. How do you incorporate sustainability into your everyday life? What advice do you have for others to do the same? I try to reduce, reuse, repair, and maintain as much as possible. I would tell others to resist buying and consuming things to make themselves feel good. What would you tell students considering pursuing an MA degree in Sustainable Design? You need to be ready to persevere through moments of doubt. How do you see the MCAD campus using the ideas expressed in the MASD program? I haven't or haven't been informed of them. I've written the dean and told staff members but there has been no reply. There is a wealth of opportunities to experiment, test, and prove some concepts with a group of very open-minded students. I'd love for this to be my responsibility.
