By the end of the Foundation Program, students, at an introductory level: Explore concept across disciplines through individual and collaborative production to recognize synthesis and shared concern. Experiment with concepts, materials and techniques to build skill-sets in a variety of making processes; embracing risk-taking as an essential element of the creative process. Recognize formal affective qualities of the work that they produce as reflected through decisions and judgments in its development. Clearly communicate their intentions, ideas, and processes for creating their work and discussing/critiquing others' work in visual, written and oral formats. Formulate and respond to critical feedback through group discourse. Demonstrate relational thinking and visual literacy including space, place, and environment. Reflect on themselves as engaged global citizens and their practice within the context of the interconnectedness of diverse communities. Define a work/life balance that addresses challenges, resources and strategies that support their health as a whole person.
